Last week on Mother’s day, officers Benjamine Deen, 34 and Liquori Tate, 24 were making a routine traffic stop when they were shot and killed. The perpetrators then fled the scene, stealing the police cruiser. They were eventually caught. This occurred just days after the funeral of NYPD officer Brian Moore.
I am concerned that there will be an open “hunting season” on cops due to the recent events regarding police shootings which have caused tension in minority communities. We need to pray for police officers and make sure governments and municipalities give them the equipment and training necessary to keep them safe. As a Church, we must do our part in instilling morals in people so that crime will go down and hopefully vanish.
