“The Bible” mini series got 13.1 million viewers in its premier on Sunday March 3, 2013 beating the famous comic book-turned TV show, the Walking Dead. Another million watched the replay of it bringing the total to 14.8 million.
The series is a dramatic retelling of the Biblical stories from Genesis to Revelation. It is beautifully done with a minor additions in creativity in the depiction of angels and other personalities. I enjoyed watching it and will get a copy of it on blu-ray when it is released.
The mini series will be running on the History and Lifetime channels. It is a great program to watch and meditate on during this Lent and upcoming Easter season.
The ratings show that the Bible is still relevant even in today’s relativistic world that claims there is no objective truth. I hope this series will bring about more inquiries about the Bible and increase readership.
